The library has several experienced family researchers on the staff to help you in this area.
The library has a range of reference material, including atlases, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias and reference books on specific subjects. The library receives newspapers from the main centres around New Zealand. EPIC resources are available online to members. You need a borrower card to access the EPIC databases.
Some books not held at The Sir Edmund Hillary Library can be requested from National Library and other libraries within New Zealand. There may be a charge. Please enquire at the Help Desk.
The library has a collection of books suitable for those adults learning to read or for those where English is their second language.
You can listen to Audio books or music on CD before you borrow or just come and relax for a bit with your favourite music or story. Enquire at the Help Desk.
There is a selection of sheet music, mostly for piano which may be borrowed.
